Our need

Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting Project Managers with the organization and management of internal and external projects.  This role involves monitoring and updating tasks, maintaining project plans, managing budgets, and coordinating the creation of project deliverables. Project Coordinators are expected to complete a variety of different tasks, many of which will vary on a day-to-day basis.  A successful Project Coordinator at Blue Acorn is a self-starter who is able to manage deadlines, be competent in functionality of PM software and Google suite, have at least a basic understanding of the software development lifecycle, have strong math skills, have strong verbal and written communication abilities, and a strong desire to one day transition into the role of Project Manager.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Arrange, facilitate, and record meetings for team members as needed
  • Assist in creating and delivering client education using input from client readiness assessment
  • Update and review project plans and track and manage deadlines in Project Management software
  • Monitor project and task status including schedule, budget, and scope impacts 
  • Communicate with team members to track and manage tasks to ensure that they are completed with high quality, on-time, and within budget 
  • Create and disseminate updates, status, and metrics as input to internal and external project status reporting
  • Assist in hours reviews and invoicing to help keep Project Manger up-to-date on the financial health of the project 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of department-related documentation
  • Facilitate the onboarding of team members, including contractors; deliver training content to new team members 
  • Take on smaller projects as a Project Manager
  • Provide coverage for Project Managers when they are out of the office
  • Demonstrate desire to learn eCommerce functional knowledge and platform expertise

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor degree in a business-related field such as Business Administration, Management, Information Systems, Marketing
  • Career growth desired in a project management role in the technology space (including risk, issue, dependency, process, and milestone management) 
  • Demonstrated relationship-building, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Cross-functional team experience
  • Familiarity with concepts of budget and financial management including profit/loss, billing, and earned value management
  • Experience in a client facing role 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to translate between technical and non-technical people
  • Ability to identify innovative ways to implement projects within established timeframes
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
